As a society, peer support group, or club, there are grants open to you from the Union. These do not need to be paid back and are designed to help your society or club develop and meet its objectives by providing funding for things it couldn't afford otherwise.

societies grant

The societies grant has a pot of £10,000 to fund society expenses and activities.

This is a flexible grant and can fund a range of different things. 

All societies and peer support groups, excluding the media collective

club grant

The sports grant is a pot of money designed to help fund club expenses, such as equipment and travel.

employability, training and conference grant

The employability grant is a £2000 pot to help societies that are putting on an event, conference, training or activity with an employability focus.

All societies and peer support groups

 £200

new society grant

 

The new society grant is a £3000 pot to help new societies develop and run activites after they have been approved.

Money in not distibuted to new societies automatically; new societies must apply and their application must be approved. 

 

New societies and peer support groups. Societies approved after April 2021 are eligible to apply until December 2021. Up to £100. The Activities and Opportunities Officer and a member of SU staff on a case by case basis.

campaigns, fundraisers and liberation events grant

 

The campaigns, liberation and fundraising grant is a £1000 pot to help fund clubs and societies to run events for campaigns, fundraisers and liberation events for things like Black/Women+/LGBTQ+/Disability Awareness History Months, This Girl Can, Go Green Week, or Movember.

 

All clubs, societies and peer support groups  £50 The Activities and Opportunities Officer and a member of SU staff on a case by case basis.

Do Something Different funding is a pot of money to help clubs and societies run Do Something Different events.

All clubs, societies and peer support groups £50 The Activities and Opportunities Officer and a member of SU staff on a case by case basis.
