Every year, UEA welcomes students from all over the globe, many of whom are members of our thriving International Society and various cultural societies. There have been plenty of great events aimed at international students already this semester, including the ISS barbecue, Say Hello freshers events, various society socials and Halloween parties.
This semester has also seen the return of the Monday Night Project in the Blue Bar. The cultural societies have been given more ownership of this, which has resulted in some really great parties jam-packed with global beats and global foods. As well as parties, the opportunities team have also been organising housing and employability workshops for International students, which have seen an excellent turnout so far.
That’s not all, more recently on Monday 4th December, International(su) and the Ethnic Minorities Officer Amanie Mathurin hosted a cultural awareness day in the Hive. The collaboration with Livewire and various cultural societies brought food, exhibitions and dance performances from all around the world to Norwich.
We're hoping to continue collaborating with cultural societies and provide a calendar of international student events to improve the international student experience. If there aren't any events that take your fancy, why not organise your own? It's easier than ever to organise your own event with our Do Something Different programme.
