how to get free money for your society

Is your society looking for new opportunities to raise funds for new equipment, an event, or something else? Then good news! We now have two brand new grants available with up to £2000 for societies to apply for, alongside our original two grant schemes.

Here is a little bit more information on how to qualify for these new grants:

Events Grant – £1500 will be available for societies. This will be allocated in grants of £500 and can be used for major events. Please note that this grant can’t be used for annual events such as Take Me Out.  This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to do something unique and exciting within your club, am opportunity you might not have otherwise been able to do without these funds. The grant can be awarded to a whole society or an individual within a society, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Green Impact Grant – £500 will be available here and will be allocated in grants of £50-£70 for environmentally friendly initiatives. These can be really simple, like showing us you’ve turned the lights off when you leave a bookable room or choosing to use public transport to get to a group trip. This is an incredibly easy way to get some free money for your club so why not start giving it a try now.

Remember, we also have two fantastic grant schemes already running alongside these new ones.

Society Grant – this year we have managed to increase this grant from £8000 to an incredible £10,000 for your societies. This is a generic grant that tends to be used for transport, equipment, refreshments etc.

Collaboration Grant – This one’s a little bit different, and it’s probably my favourite of them all! If your society holds a collaborative event between student groups, then we will pay 20% of the cost up to £100 (e.g. up to £20 per event). Although this does seem like a small amount, it is still another £20 that can be well-spent elsewhere within your society. We’ve listened to feedback from you, telling us how much you love collaborating with other societies, so this grant has been created with that in mind and to try and help you to be able to do this more.
