earning while you're learning

The SU strive to provide students with skills and experience which can be useful for when you finally fly the nest of university. We employ over 750 students every year to work with us and you can be one of them!

What kind of job roles can you expect?

We have a range of jobs to cater to everyone’s skills and the recruitment process has started for the academic year of 2020-2021!

  • shop(su) roles

  • UNIO Barista

  • Venues Catering roles

  • Office roles (various departments)

  • Box Office

  • Bar Staff (All bars)

  • Tech Crew

  • Alcohol Impact Crew

The beauty of having a job with the SU is that they put your studies first, your hours are capped at 15 per week to make sure you’re doing those weekly readings as well as enjoying sociable time with any clubs or societies you are a part of.

Some argue that the best part of working with uea(su), except the amazing people you meet, is the national living wage of £9 an hour, this is better than most jobs in Norwich.

Our application process is slightly different as we don’t ask you to send in a CV, we’ll ask you to fill in some details and answer a few role specific questions, that’s it! From there, candidates go through different experiences based on the job you are applying for. Some can expect to be shortlisted, interviewed, asked to do smaller tasks or group activities and some managers ask you to do a probationary shift to make sure you are comfortable in certain environments.

It is an amazing opportunity to work with uea(su) and you meet some great people along the way. Check out what jobs are waiting for you here What are you waiting for? Get applying NOW!
