decolonise uea steering meeting

Want to help us increase diversity in the curriculum? Want to help make UEA a more welcoming place for BAME students? Then come to the Decolonising UEA Steering Group and share your thoughts and feelings in a safe and constructive environment.

'Decolonise UEA' is a campaign to tackle institutionalised racism at UEA; dismantle hierarchical, opaque and undemocratic institutional cultures; diversify the curriculum; improve the representation of BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) staff; and steer meaningful interventions to improve the wellbeing and student experience of BAME students at UEA.

Last time the during the steering meeting students came up with a logo, name and a set of asks of what 'Decolonise UEA' means to them. At this meeting we will bring you designs for launching a hate crime reporting campaign as well as outlines for how 'Decolonise UEA' will move forward for your input.

Come to the 'Decolonise UEA' steering meeting on Tuesday 26th March 5.30 -7.30pm in Bookable Room 1 to share your views and get involved with other students who care about this issue.

This is open to all students and new people are encouraged to come along. We would like as diverse a group as possible to steer this work going forward, so please pass this on to anyone who may be interested!
