Part Time Officers

care4calais this christmas

It is the most wonderful time of the year and to fit the festive spirit, we are asking you to please donate whatever you can to the collection of food and clothing for migrants at Calais. Whilst we go home for Christmas dinners and presents, migrants have to put up with rougher conditions in a place often far from where they would consider home.

By donating just the smallest items of warm clothing from socks to shoes, or a tin of baked beans, these contributions really add up to ensuring that their Christmas is the best Christmas possible.

Care4Calais will take the donations gathered into a van to a warehouse at Calais where volunteers then distribute the items around camps. These camps are situated around Northern France and Belgium and support people from Eritrea to Afghanistan. The items that they need consist of warm clothing and non-perishable food such as baked beans.

The full list is here:

I will end on a wonderful quote from a Care4Calais volunteer:

“If my family were bombed and had lost everything, I’d like to think that someone, somewhere in the world would help them, if I couldn’t”
