Hi everybody, I’m Adrian, I’m a second-year student and I am delighted to be the Mature Students Officer for this year.

A reminder of my manifesto:

I want to make the Campus more inclusive for mature or older students. Students over 21 make up approximately one quarter of the student number at UEA, but I felt there was little to reflect our diversity and wide range of interests. We’ve also created the Mature Students Peer Support Group this year, to help those of us who need a little more guidance on or off Campus.

I also want to build our community and make it easier for mature students to integrate, find like-minded people and non-academic events that create a stronger sense of inclusion and enjoyment.

When I am not studying, I will be working closely with Gemma & Lea from the UEA & SU Widening Participation teams. Between us we will form the backbone of your support on campus – and if we don’t know the answer to your question, we’ll know someone who does!

We are always looking for suggestions or ideas too so don’t be shy, if you have any let us know!
