Nightline Awareness Week

It’s Nightline Awareness Week!

Most of you will probably have heard of Nightline before, but for those of you who aren’t quite sure what they do then this week is the perfect time to find out.

Nightline is a student-run confidential listening service that is there to support you when something is on your mind. No matter how big or small the issue is, they are there for you throughout the night, open during term time, every night, 8pm-8am. Their volunteers are trained to listen, not lecture, and are there to just talk through whatever is on your mind in a non-judgmental setting.

By dedicating a week to what nightline do, we really want to encourage all students to be heard no matter what their issue is. To help us celebrate everything that nightline do for UEA students, why not get involved in the series of FREE events they are running this week!

It’s been great to see so many of you already getting involved with what’s been going on over the past few days. So far, we’ve had a yoga session, a film screening, the bears and bananas session which encouraged students to ‘be heard’, and the nightline quiz. But there’s still plenty to come!

Bear in the Square- The Square, 12-13.30, get a hug and a picture with the nightline bear and ask any questions about the service, including any questions about the extras that nightline offer such as free condoms and pregnancy tests.

Beginner’s Run-3.30-4.30, meet outside Earlham Hall, join a friendly runners club for an hour with nightline committee members. Last year the nightline bear even took part... click hereto see footage of how that turned out!

Crochet with knit soc-Bookable room 1, come along 2-4pm to see the nightline bear attempt some crochet and to get involved yourself! Members of Nightline Committee will be around to answer any questions you may have about the service as well.

Why not choose an event to attend and get involved!

Remember, nightline is there for you throughout the night and are there to listen no matter how big or small the issue is. Be Heard and contact them if you need them.
