coronavirus - zero tolerance on racism

Hi everyone,

Amidst the coverage surrounding the coronavirus, we understand that this has led to the reporting of some incidents of harassment nationally in which Chinese/East Asian students have been targeted. This has led to a rise in concern within our Students' Union regarding the wellbeing of our members and staff.

We want to make it very clear that we have no tolerance for any form of racism or harassment both on and off our campus and if you have witnessed or have experienced discrimination because of ignorance brought on by the coronavirus outbreak, please know we are here to offer you our support.  This also applies if you are concerned of the rise in incidents and would like some advice or help.

If you would like to report an incident anonymously or with your details but do not feel comfortable coming to see us, you can report it on the university's new scheme ‘Report and Support’ designed to record and follow up incidents which then you can access support if wanted. You can access ‘Report and Support’ via this link: https://reportandsupport.uea.ac.uk/. Alternatively, you can email the Students’ Union at [email protected] or drop-in from 10am-4pm on weekdays.

If you are interested in keeping up to date with the coronavirus, we advise you use these links as they produce factually correct updates:
