Academic Social induction

This year, the Students' Union have approached Schools within the University to come along to social events that are happening for first years within the School to promote academic opportunities that you can be involved in whilst at University.

At these sessions, we hope to provide a space for conversations and questions about the Course Representation Scheme, how to get involved in this and what the role can do for you and the wider student body. We'll also be providing space for relevant academic societies to come along and let you know what kind of activities they do throughout the year and how you can be come a member or get more involved. For Postgraduate students we'll also be trying to come along and promote our PG (SU) offering, with information about the plans for the year ahead with regards to campaigns and events, how you can get involved in the Union through areas such as PG Assembly and information about our dedicated Postgraduate space within Union House.

Finally, we'll also be providing more information about the Buddy (SU) scheme - a welfare based scheme where you can be paired with a buddy to have someone to talk to and go to for more 1-2-1 peer support whilst in your first year (and also how to get involved in following years!).

For more information just have a look at your timetable in the first week and watch out for us there! We can't wait to meet you all!
