Black Mental Health Workshop

Monday 25 October 2021, 5pm - 7pm

Bookable Room 6

This is an evening of real conversations around the mental health crisis affecting the Black and Mixed community within the wider context of a system that contributes to the mental health issues of Black and lower-class people. We will look at what Black mental health is, how mental health is perceived in the Black community, and how allies can help.

Come and learn tools for emotional wellness within the African psychological framework and start to experience healing from stigma within a safe space setting. Allies are welcomed to come and learn how they can support their fellow peers. Expect storytelling, meditation and group discussions.

It's time we all self-determine our own well-being and change the narrative.

Dionne Williams is a qualified Trainer, Psychologist (MSc in Counselling Psychology), Motivational Speaker and Consultant for gender and culturally informed services in the Third Sector. Dionne works closely with marginalised community groups to improve mental health for people of colour.

There is limited space for this workshop, and due to room capacities, only those that have purchased a ticket will be able to attend. Please only book a ticket if you are sure you can attend. If you book a ticket but can no longer attend the event, please email [email protected]
