This is an event open to all of our Students Leaders (further details below) and is designed to train, develop and inspire them in their influential and important roles. Spaces are limited so register your interest quickly!

This weekend long residential is for any student volunteering or working within the Union for the next academic year 2018 - 2019.

All the eligible roles are:
club or society committee members, course reps, School or Faculty convenors, Student Officers, Sub Committee Members, or Student Staff Members.

The weekend is designed to help you to gain skills, make friends with other students, get to know your Union a little better and of course have some fun! Evening entertainment will be provided.

The programme of activities and sessions will be interactive and enjoyable, where you will get to spend some quality time with new people.

FAQs 

  • The deposit – This year we introduced a refundable deposit to get a better idea of numbers. But we’ve listened to your feedback and removed the deposit to make booking as easy as possible! If you’ve already paid, we’ll refund you next week.  

  • Working the Open Day? – You can still sign up if you are working the Open Day on Saturday 8th September, we’ll pick you up at 5pm outside Union House, so that you can come and enjoy the rest of the residential, just in time for the BBQ! Simply email aden.fry@uea.ac.uk to let us know you’re coming on the later bus. 

  • Not knowing anyone – Don’t worry if your mates aren’t coming, the whole weekend is all about helping you meet other staff, committees and reps! We’re putting on loads of easy icebreakers and activities so by the end of the weekend you should know everyone! 

  • Sleeping bag – If you really don’t have a sleeping bag, we can lend you one, just ask! 

  • Loads of free food – Throughout the entire weekend you will be provided with top quality refreshments.

DEADLINE FOR PURCHASING A TICKET IS THE 25TH OF AUGUST.

Just remember to provide your own sleeping bag! If you struggle to meet this requirement, please email union.opportunities@uea.ac.uk

All you need to do is purchase a free ticket to the event and fill in the forms that are sent to you to confirm your spot. Tickets for this event are on a first come first served basis and are dependent on your main volunteer or staff role, to ensure we get a fair variety of attendees. Limits on certain roles will be suspended the end of July after which time it will be open to anyone with a student leadership position.

The event will take place just outside Norwich in Hautbois Activity Centre. Coaches to the centre will leave campus at 9am on Saturday 8th September and we will leave Hautbois at 5pm on the Sunday expecting to be back at campus for 6pm. If you are concerned about access requirements, the Union have taken this into consideration and the venue does have accessible rooms and facilities. We also have secured a prayer space.
