Food Waste Reduction Workshop
Wednesday 20 February 2019, 11am - 1pm
Green Room, Union Building
Cut down on your food waste, save money, and learn how to be more sustainable with Food Savvy.
A typical British household could save up to £70 worth of food by cutting down on their food waste! This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn how to reduce your food waste in order to minimise your impact on the environment and save money.
You’ll have a chance to put what you learn into action through cooking up something yummy. Of course, you will not go home without tasting a sample of what we make as free tasteres are availble!
Food Savvy is a new initiative launched by Norfolk and Suffolk councils alongside the environmental charity Hubbub to help individuals and households cut food waste by a fifth, inline with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. Food Savvy has fun and simple ways to help you save money and celebrate good food!
We're committed to making sure all Do Something Different events are as accessible as possible for all students.
This event may not be suitable for individuals with specific food allergies.
Any attendees with individual concerns about their accessibility are advised to contact Union Opportunities (Union.Opportunities@uea.ac.uk) for additional support.
What is Do Something Different?
The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures!
There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!
