A career-boosting, fun social trip for UEA Biological Society members. A visit to the 5th largest pharmaceutical company in the world, followed by a world leading research institute and famous London museums.

A once in the lifetime opportunity to visit an industry leading Pharmaceutical company, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), the fifth largest in the world. With jobs from a variety of sectors such as HR, biological discovery, manufacturing, clinical research, bioinformatics, medical and external affairs, this is an opportunity to find out more about potential careers. Also learn more about MSD's rich history, life-saving pipeline and potential internships/placements with an industry insight into the application/interview process. Following the presentations, a lunch will be provided, giving you the opportunity to network with industry professionals. After lunch we will be heading down to the world renowned research institute, the Francis Crick Institute, visiting an exhibition before heading deeper into London to go to the Science and Natural History museums. 

Agenda:

  • 7:15 - Coach from UEA (outside Congregation Hall) to London
  • 11:00 - Presentations 
  • 13:00 - Lunch Networking Session
  • 13:45 - Francis Crick Institute Visit
  • 15:30 - Science Museum & Natural History Museum
  • 19:00 - Coach back to UEA (arrive back ~21:30pm)

This trip is extremely limited on numbers, make sure to book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. As this event is extremely limited these tickets are non-refundable. Please arrive at UEA (congregation hall) promptly for 7:15am. 

In order to allow for any member to enjoy the benefits of this trip, tickets are only £5 and include coach travel to and from London from UEA, lunch, visit to the Francis Crick Institute and the Natural History/Science museums.
