First Aid Society Taster Session 1

Come along to one of the First Aid Societies Do Something Different Taster Sessions to meet the committee and learn some life saving skills. In this taster session we'll be looking at CPR, the recovery position and how to help an unconscious casualty. We'll also be talking about what we do as a society, the plan for the upcoming semester including socials and our links with St John Ambulance as a functional, student-led volunteering unit. 

 

 

 

By “buying” a free ticket to attend this event you agree to follow all instructions given to you by committee members and trainers running the session including any action related to making the event Covid-19 secure. Anyone who does not follow these rules will be asked to leave and may be escalated to the University, Students Union and/or Campus Security or Police as appropriate. Inappropriate/ unsafe action includes but is not limited to; not complying with social distancing, mask wearing or hand washing/ cleaning, shouting/ singing, misuse of equipment against guidance of committee members, or carrying out any activity that put themselves, other participants or committee members at risk of Covid-19 transmission or any other injury/ illness. Do not attend this event if you have any symptoms of coronavirus or have been advised to self-isolate. Symptoms include a fever, new continuous cough or a loss/ change in taste or smell. 

 

Please arrive no earlier that 7.20 pm and wait to be invited into the venue by a committee member (they will be wearing a dark green polo with their name and the society logo on the back). Please make sure you bring a face covering with you or you may be refused entry unless you have a legal exemption; this must cover your mouth and nose completely and not need you to touch the mask to stay up (i.e. no pulling a t-shirt over your face), it also not be “vented”, and plastic face visors are not an acceptable alternative unless you cannot use any other type of mask. Your ticket will be checked, and you will be asked to sign in for track and trace purposes.
