frequently asked questions
What is UEA Votes?
The Students' Union is the recognised representative body for all core UEA students and is led by a team of student officers, who are elected annually. The time has come to find the new team and we're looking for candidates.
Who can stand?
All current UEA students are able to stand in the election, whether you're in your first or final year, and there are both full-time paid and part-time voluntary positions available. Full-time positions require you to take a year out from your studies or can be undertaken after finishing your studies.
Period of Office
The period of office for all roles will be June 2017 to June 2018. To be a full-time officer you must defer your studies or undertake the role immediately after you finish your studies.
Part-time positions are voluntary and are designed to run alongside your studies, you must be a current student whilst undertaking this role.
How do I get elected?
You need to submit a photo and manifesto after the close of nominations to be eligable to stand. Then you will need to campaign for students to vote for you (we will give you some resources and a budget for this). The candidate(s) with the most votes then win the election. Simple.
