TIMETABLE FOR 2021/2022
MONDAY BDS 0.08
Hatha Yoga taught by Lucy Cox
Hatha yoga aims to calm your mind, restore your body, and reconnect you to your breath during this fun and dynamic practice. The postures in this practice help to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in the body. It also helps to replenish your body and introduce a positive mindset to get you prepared for deep relaxation. This class is appropriate for all levels, with intermediate advancements available to encourage growth over the course of your practices. Hatha yoga will leave you feeling more connected to yourself and the world in which we live.
TUESDAY KMS Room Sportspark
Ashtanga Yoga taught by Benedetta Gattari
This class will incorporate aspects of the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga, allowing you to develop a deeper awareness of your mind and body as well as building strength and flexibility through breath and movement. It is a dynamic and energising practice that involves some pranayama (breath work), sun salutations, a standing sequence, seated sequence and finishing sequence (inversion practice). The sequence will be similar each week and we will have some fun with balances and flows, rewarded with a savasana relaxation at the end, where you can absorb all of the benefits of the practice.
THURSDAY BDS 0.08
Vinyasa Yoga taught by Lousia Penrose
The class explores yoga postures through a flowing sequence to help students develop more awareness of their own energy and the innate intelligence of the body. Developing both strength and flexibility, each posture is in service to finding release at the center of the body through exploring the relationship between gravity and the breath. Suitable for all levels of experience, variations are offered to suit individual practitioners. The class also incorporates pranayama (breath regulation) and mindfulness meditation techniques.
FRIDAY BDS 0.08
Hatha / Vinyasa / Yin Yoga taught by Sophia Greengrass
A Vinyasa Yoga class starting with gentle mindfulness and breath exercises to increase vitality and de-stress, followed by Asanas (physical postures) and targeted muscle engagement, with stretching and deep breathing to help to build strength, flexibility and awareness at the very core of the body. The class will finish with a restorative Savasana (final relaxation) where students will be guided on themes of meditation to find a calm and peaceful mind/body state.
SATURDAY BDS 0.08
Restorative Yoga taught by Katie Fielder
This class will focus on breathing to allow you to deepen your postures whilst also facilitating your journey into relaxation and a more meditative state. By the end of the class, you will feel stronger and more stretches and deeply relaxed with a calm and clearer mind, ready to relax and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
