So, a little more about the club!
Competing:
- Our Squad is made up of 6 competitive teams! Nevertheless we also gladly welcome members who are non competitive and/or social.
- Our BUCS Squad (1st, 2nd and 3rd team) are entered into the BUCS league and compete every Wednesday against other universities and in the conference cup.
- Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams have all been entered into local leagues as well. 1st, 2nd and 3rd team play every other Tuesday night in an indoor league whereas the 4th and 5th team will be playing outside every Monday night! The 6th team and development squad will also play outdoors on a Thursday night!
- You can also join the Club even if you do not wish to play competitively - if this is the type of member you wish to be, you won't have to trial!
Training:
- MONDAY- 6-7:30pm 2nd and 3rd teams (Hall 3), 7:30-9pm our 1st team trains with Norfolk United's ER2 team (Hall 1)
- TUESDAY- 5-6:20pm our 4th and 5th teams (Hall 3)
- WEDNESDAY- 2-4pm 6th, 7th and 8th teams (outdoor courts)
- FRIDAY- 7-9am strength and conditioning for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams (Hall 1&2), 3-5pm 5th and 6th teams (Hall 3)
Socials:
One of the best things about joining UEANC is the social side! Many of our girls have made friends for life, through the regular socials organised by our dedicated Social Secs. These can range from themed LCR nights out, live netball matches, SPORTS NIGHTS, trampolining, meals out and bbq's, cinema trips and joint socials with lots of other clubs. Our social calendar is already filling up so get ready for a jam-packed year of fun!
Trials:
Our team selection takes place via trials, this is nothing to be worried about and is actually a really fun day! Everyone will take part in a series of drills and matches to which our amazing coach and selectors will be able to watch us all play and ultimately make team decisions. To keep things completely fair old girls re-trial each year so every place is up for grabs!
Please book onto the appropriate slot, and ensure membership has been paid before attending.
This year our trials will comprise of 4 phases:
- PHASE 1- Monday 27th September 3:30-6:30pm, held on the outdoor courts
- For all girls who havent played for UEANC before (freshers and returners) to have an initial trial
- PHASE 2- Tuesday 28th September 5-7pm, held in Hall 2 and 3
- For 20/21 teams 4-8 and selected freshers ONLY
- PHASE 3- Wednesday 29th September 4-6pm, held on the outdoor courts
- For 20/21 BUCS teams and selected freshers ONLY
- PHASE 4- Friday 1st October 5-8pm, held on the outdoor courts
- ALL girls to play in a tournamnet trial to ensure team placement, attendance REQUIRED if you have been selected
- Provisional teams will be sent via email on Thursday 30th October
Sports fayre:
Sports fayre will be held on Wednesday 22nd September, between 11-4pm. We will be there to answer any questions you may have, and are so excited to meet you!
