Norwich Model United Nations (MUN) society are a passionate group of students who work with Outreach to promote global politics and citizenship to post-16 students currently studying at sixth form or college. The group’s main objectives are to provide an opportunity for students to develop an awareness and understanding of political, international affairs and diplomacy whilst simultaneously developing other important transferable skills.
Involvement with Norwich MUN will provide students with an opportunity to utilise their knowledge in areas such as Geography, History, Law, Politics, International Development and Economics and learn how to apply this knowledge outside of the classroom. Moreover, students will gain an opportunity to enhance their public speaking, diplomacy, debate, critical thinking and negotiating skills.
How would you like to set up your own debate team or Model UN club for your students? Your students could gain new skills as well as be involved in a fantastic extra-curricular activity that would look great on a personal statement. We would like to come to your sixth form or college and work with you and your students, providing resources and framework to empower your students to drive this forward.
UEA host an annual conference in February/March each year, which is run by our current students, which brings together young people to spend a day on campus, engaging in exciting debates and engaging with a range of different people. Those who opt in to receive workshops are automatically invited to the conference.
