The Social Work Society is a great way to interact with other student's on the course at our social events. As the society has recently been created, we have lots of goals and welcome members suggestions too! There will be opportunities to get involved in fundraising events and we will be collaborating with other societies both relevant and not relevant to Social Work. We aim to have a diverse range of socials; some for fun to relieve the stress and others to develop our learning further, this too allows different people to enjoy what the society brings. We also aim to make the events as accessible as possible for both students living on campus and students off campus as we understand that some people commute. We will also be holding study sessions for all students so that we can share our placement experiences and support each other during our studies.
COVID UPDATE: Due to the current circumstances many of our up and coming socials will be arranged and held virtually online, this is likely to be on MS Teams or Zoom. We apologise for the inconvience this may cause some of you, but the safety of all members and students is crucial. We hope to have face to face contact as a society as soon as it is possible and safe to do so. We aim to carry out activities such as virtual quizzes and games, learning opportunities online as well as catchups and general chit chat as we understand communication is key in these circumstances.
