What is the Food Co-Op?
The Food Co-Op is a not-for-profit, student-run, volunteer-based organisation that buys in wholesale foods and sells it on to students at super low prices. We have a stall in the Hive ever week (exact time/day to be confirmed). If you intend on regularly buying stuff from the stall we would recommend getting paid membeship (more details below). A list of the foods we sell can be found here: (coming soon), but if there is anything in particular you are looking for we will try our best to stock it for you; drop us a message if you are interested in requesting an item. We encourage people to bring their own containers along, but if you forget we will have some small paper bags for an extra small fee. All of our stock is vegan. We currently only accept cash, but are looking to set up other means of payment.
What Benefit Does Membership Bring?
Membership is £3. When buying from the Food Co-Op stall, £0.50 is charged on top of the cost of your purchase as a payment to access the Food Co-Op service. However, as a member, you can access the Food Co-Op for free.
How to Get Involved?
If you want to get involved in the Food Co-Op we always appreciate volunteers. Whether you can help out one time, or you want to put yourself down regularly, you can always come and volunteer on the stall. If you're interested then check out our spreadhseet online where you can put yourself down to volunteer: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nbQ7fXRyJ9lhjc2lIeDaG1f2KytjchEgLn0V2I7pkNU/edit?usp=sharing.
