Monday Markers Market
THE student pop up market on campus for designers and entrepreneurs.
We want to bring together talented students to showcase their work, whether you're an artists, photographer, illustrator, baker, fashion designer or maker of other things, you're all very welcome to come and display and sell your work.
uea(su) holds a monthly Markers Market in the hive from 11am-3pm. The opportunity is FREE for UEA students and offers a platform for budding entrepreneurs to test out their business ideas, showcase their products, gain first hand experience of selling and be face to face with potential customers. The event itself will have live music, tasty food and plenty of clever, creative students selling their work.
We'll provide you with a table, chair and tablecloth so you can display your products but the rest is over to you!
You can book a place at the upcoming Makers Markets on the following dates by completing the application form below:

What do students think of the Pop Up Markets?
“I liked the diverse crowd of both staff and students and visitors to the university. It really felt like both a welcoming and a dynamic event.” Danica Arthur-Asante, 2nd year English Literature student
“The best thing about the Pop Up Markets is the public engagement and the feedback we got from the people about our product, plus the location was brilliant” Mohamed Elsheemy, Health Economics PhD
“The Pop Up Market was great! It was my first ever experience of selling my products, so it was very exciting!” - Cherry Quansah, 3rd year Psychology student
If you can't make the Monday Makers Markets, there are other opportunities for you to trade in the hive. We have our commercial Fayre on Tuesdays and Thursday and non commerical days on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are commercial trading days in Union House. This means you’ll see external suppliers offering various products to students in the hive. However, we do offer 2 free spaces for clubs, societies and peer support groups for free on these days. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Individuals – (both current under and post graduates), other non official student groups i.e. individual fundraisers and students trading as part of a course project and Alumni can trade on a Tuesday and Thursday when we have available space, but there will be a charge of £30. Please see our 'selling your products on campus' section of the website for more information.
Non Commerical days
Students can book a table for free on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (as well as at the weekends) free of charge. You simply need to make a booking online using the room bookings page.
Every year, uea (su) organises a large Christmas market in the Hive and LCR. A variety of products are on offer, such as preserves, vinyl, jewellery, books, cakes, Christmas decorations and more, all sold by a mixture of staff, students and external companies. We usually have festive entertaiment such as carol singers and Christmas music and delicious gingerbread lattes and mince pies are sold in Unio.
The market offers a great opportunity for budding entreprenuers to test out their products and hopefully make some profit at the same time. If you would like to book a stall, you can register your interest by emailing Victoria on firstname.lastname@example.org
