postgraduate committee elections

ANY POSTGRADUATE at UEA can nominate themselves to stand in this election. Rules on the election will be posted closer to the election. 

The nominations period will be open from 12:00 on the 7th of October, to 12:00 on the 14th of October. 

The election period will be from 12:00 on the 15th of October to 12:00 on the 18th of October.

The positions available are: 

  • 2 PGR places
  • 2 Women+ places
  • 2 Open places

While on committee you'll be responsible for the management of a five figure budget, planning fun and engaging events for postgrads throughout the year, leading the direction of research uea(su) does into postgraduate issues, holding your representatives to account, chairing meetings, and facilitating funding mechanisms for postgraduate students.

Postgraduate Democracy Elections 2019

Voting will close at 12:00 on the 18th of October. The 6 Committee positions are made up of 2 protected women plus places, 2 protected PGR place, and 2 open places. There are no separate elections for these positions, the protected places are automatically counted once the election is closed. There will be a Postgraduate Assembly on the 15th of October where the postgraduate education officer will explain committee more broadly, and there will be a rolling slideshow of manifestos for each position. Online voting will already be open at this assembly, therefore there will be no speeches heard from candidates, however this will be the one and only opportunity for candidates to field any questions from the postgraduate community.
