Who are we...?

As UEA's Club of the Year 2017, UEAWFC is an amazing club to be a part of. Get involved in training sessions, BUCs league matches, awesome socials including meals, laser tag, tournaments and occasionally drinking plenty, whilst meeting a really great bunch of people always up for a laugh along the way. We welcome all abilities - from superstars to those who have never kicked a ball before. We have two teams in the BUCs league this year, meaning we can get more girls than ever involved in university football, and being part of a friendly, inclusive club. We provide both a competitive environment and a social one, allowing members to choose how much they'd like to be involved. There are also opportunities to fundraise and improve skills outside the sport to help boost CVs!

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the latest details and photos, and watch one of our many YouTube videos.

Training

  • Tuesday 5-7pm @ Sports Park Astroturf in the winter    (BUCS players only)
  • Friday 5-7pm    @ Sports Park 3G pitches                     (Whole club)
  • Saturday Session 10am-12pm @ Colney Lane              (Whole club)

The Saturday session is a newly introduced session. It is an ideal session for all abilities and will include skills development, fitness and tactical play. It will be run by the committee and captains to ensure everyone is improving in the areas they wish to. It will always be a fun session and a great chance to socialise.

Games

Our first and second teams play in BUCs matches on Wednesdays.

We also have a newly formed development team that play in a local five aside league on Monday evenings. They will be run by three club reps who will be working together to develop leadership skills. New reps will be appointed at Christmas for the start of their new season.

For BUCs games, kick off is usually 2 pm, with some games played at home and some away. The kit is provided on the day of the match.

Trials will be held at the beginning of the year however they do not cement the teams and are held mainly to provide the captains with a chance to identify each player's abilities ready for the games that are scheduled so early in the academic year.

Team selections vary each week with commitment, effort, ability, attitude, fitness and availability all being taken into account. Do not be disheartened if you don't make the squad in the first week or two, this does not mean you will not in the future. Our captains have the tough job of selections each week alongside the coaching staff.
