Welcome to env soc
We welcome all students who are studying environmental sciences or similar disciplines, or those who just share an interest with all things env! Your membership gets you involved in all our socials, talks, debates, nights out, the winter and summer Balls, the summer BBQ and more!
Our Main Events:
The Welcome Social
Taking place on campus, the welcome social is a great opportunity to meet other members of the society as well as your committee. The last two years we have done a bar crawl through Norwich so freshers can get to know the area, before heading back to either the LCR or into town for the official Fresher's events.
It's always a successful night, and this years theme of 50 Shades of Green was amazing!
The Winter Ball
One of our main annual events is our winter ball, a formal evening in the city to celebrate the end of the first semester.
Last year this was held at Mr Postles Apothecary in the city centre. It was a fantastic night and you can find some of the photos on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
End of Year BBQ
During third semester we head down to the lakeside and have a BBQ to celebrate our achievements over the year and to de-stress after exams! It is also a great way to get to know the new committee for the next academic year
We had a great turn out last year, thank you to everyone that joined us!
The Summer Ball
Last year we held our annual summer ball at Carrow Road Football Club. It was a briliant night to celebrate the end of the year!
Photos can be found on our Facebook page!
Details will be released soon about this years ball!
We also run a number of sober socials throughout the year for those who don't drink and everyone who wants to do something different! In the past we have organised trips to the trampoline park, meals, and more recently we have run documentary screenings which have been a huge success.

ENV Soc Sweatshirts
This year we have introduced merchandise available to order at various points in the year. The logo is embroided on the front and there is an option to personalise the back with your name, course or anything you like! Check below to see if they are currently on sale, if not get in touch with us to find out when the next chance to order will be.
After successfully screen the entire series of Blue Planet II at the end of 2017, our sober socials will now include screening various documentaries ENV related. Keep an eye on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emails for when the next screening will be!
New this year we have introduced help sessions run by Masters and PhD students for anyone struggling with any course related problems that would like some extra help. These run every Wednesday, 2-4pm in the Env Social Space. We hope you find these useful, even if it's just to use the space as an alternative to the library, with the option of help there!
Every year we take part in the University wide Ziggurat Challenge. We aim to improve our turn out and results every year, but it is a brilliant way to meet other people in the faculty and try a new sport in an informal way! Head over to ueasport or check the Facebook page for updates on which challenge is happening next.
Email us any questions you may have, and make sure you join us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
