UEA GOLF

Following a great season where UEA Golf battled in the BUCS Midlands League 2A, we're excited to return to competivive golf in BUCS! We are looking not only to build our membership with both experienced and new golfers alike but expand the club and ride the wave of the current golf boom! Whether you have played for years, or have only recently started as a lockdown golfer, we would love to have you in the club this year.

Membership:

We offer three different levels of membership at Bawburgh Golf Club, which is just a short drive from Campus with both a 9 and 18 hole golf course, fully stocked golf shop and exceptional practice facilities. There is an 18 hole membership for those looking to play most regualrly, a 9 hole membership for new golfers who aren't wanting to play as often, or commit to playing as much golf and finally a range membership for those looking for the more social elements of joining a sports club.

Training:

Open to all members, the club meets every Monday night outside congregation hall at 6:30pm for a driving range session held at Norwich Family Golf Centre driving range http://www.bawburgh.com/family-golf-centre/ (approx. 20min drive), where members of all abilities can practice both their long game under floodlit bays or their short game on the putting/chipping green.*Clubs can also be shared for range sessions once sanitized

Social rounds at Bawburgh golf course will also be regularly played throughout the week and this is open to all 18 hole members (standard of golf must be approved by a club pro at Bawburgh first for beginners). We will also be looking into group lessons for any student wishing to take up golf more seriously using the PGA qualified professions at Bawburgh (depending on interest), and this can be extended to all players dependant on demand.

Competition:

Competitive golf will once again be in BUCS Midlands League 2A, BUCS is restarting on the 20th of October and we're looking forward to returning to the competitve aspects of University Golf.  We will be holding a lot of inter-club competitions, so please look out on our social media pages you are interested in playing in those, alongside regular social roll ups.

*Matches will take place on a Wednesday

*The standard of golf in this team ranges from handicaps 1-7 but anyone with a single figure handicap has a chance of making the 6-person team for our fixtures*

Sports Fayre:

If you missed us at the sports fayre, please don't hesitate to get in contact with any of the committee (details below) or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about getting into golf, regardless of your level of experience we'd love to have you.
