UEA GOLF

Following a great season where UEA Golf battled in the BUCS Midlands League 2A, we're excited for our biggest year ever. Golf is fortunately one of the sports that is easy to play with COVID-19 regulations. We are looking not only to build our membership with both experienced and new golfers alike but expand the club and ride the wave of the current golf boom!

Membership:

Members will receive a full 7-day membership at Eaton Golf Club http://www.eatongc.co.uk/, situated just a short 5-minute drive from the university campus. At the course, members will have access to all facilities including 18 holes, practice putting green, small driving range (150yards long approx.), and 10% discount that can be redeemed in the bar as well as the pro shop.

*Members who have an official club handicap certificate are also entitled to enter all club competitions at Eaton for which they are eligible*

Training:

Open to all members, the club meets every Monday night outside congregation hall at 6:30pm for a driving range session held at Norwich Family Golf Centre driving range http://www.bawburgh.com/family-golf-centre/ (approx. 20min drive), where members of all abilities can practice both their long game under floodlit bays or their short game on the putting/chipping green.

Social rounds at Eaton golf course will also be regularly played throughout the week and this is open to all members (standard of golf must be approved by club pro at Eaton first for beginners).

*Clubs can also be shared for range sessions once sanitized

Competition:

Competitive golf will once again be in BUCS Midlands League 2A, currently, there is no for any BUCS golf to be played in semester 1 however there are plans to commence in semester 2. We will be holding a lot of inter-club competitions, so please look out on our social media pages you are interested in playing.

*Matches will take place on a Wednesday across semester 2*

*The standard of golf in this team ranges from handicaps 1-7 but anyone with a single figure handicap has a chance of making the 6-man team for our fixtures*

Sports Fayre:

The Sports Fair will be online this year, please look out for our online stand and feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions! Please feel free to join our group on Facebook and keep updated across all our social media channels for all the news on UEAGolf and get to know not only the committee but prior members as well!
