To help you plan, we have collated all the key dates for the election below. It also includes workshops and briefing sessions. Where a workshop is compulsory it will say as such.

Conveners Workshop

From supporting course reps, to leading educational change for your school and faculty, Conveners hold a very detrimental role representing UEA's academic interests. If you feel you would be a good Convener, head over to our Convener workshop where we will be going into information about the structure of academic representation, key goals of conveners and the skills you will need.

Campaigns and Democracy Officer Workshop

15:00-16:00 Bookable Room 1

From leading on key campaigns across UEA, to upholding the union’s democracy, the Campaigns and Democracy Officer holds a unique role within the Union. If you’re interested in nominating yourself for this position, head over to our one-hour information session where we will be looking at what the Campaigns and Democracy Officer does in more detail, and the key skills and attributes needed to be successful.  

Tuesday 11th Feb

Activities and Opportunities Officer Workshop

16:00-17:00 Bookable Room 1

If you have a keen interest in societies, clubs, student groups and events, the Activities and Opportunities Officer role could be for you. This one-hour session will cover the key aims and responsibilities of the role, give you an opportunity to ask questions, and develop your understanding of the position and how you could use your skills to make a difference

Postgraduate Education Officer Workshop

This one-hour session will go over everything about the Postgraduate Education Officer role. From being able to discuss the key tasks of this position, to giving you insight into its pivotal role representing Postgraduate students across the UEA. If you are thinking about nominating yourself for this position, do not miss this opportunity to ask questions and gain vital insight into what the life of a Postgraduate Education Officer at UEA is like.

Undergraduate Education Officer Workshop

If you are thinking of nominating yourself to be Undergraduate Education Officer, pop along to our one-hour role information session. We will be going over key responsibilities and give you an idea of what a year as lead representatives for undergraduate students at UEA would be like. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions to someone who knows the role well and understand how your skills could make you a great student representative.

From asking about particular roles to campaigning guidance, these sessions are in place to ensure you get the best out of the election period that you can and feel well equipped and ready. Sessions will be specific to either manifesto or campaign support, however opportunities for questions or wider discussion are always available.

Compulsory Candidate Briefing

This meeting is compulsory for candidates to attend. Candidate Briefings are an opportunity to:

• Bring candidates together

• Talk about campaigning effectively

•Trustee agreement to be signed 

Thursday 27th Feb

This is the time that campaigning opens – candidates and campaign teams must not begin to campaign before this time.

During the voting period, all candidates are required to attend an am and pm debrief held by the SU.
