The Union has 62 sports clubs, and have been working to keep them accessible to postgraduate students. Last year hundreds of PG students joined a sports club, ranging from swimming to rock climbing. Sports clubs are not just a place for those wishing to compete competitively, they are also a way to relieve stress and get out of the lab or the library.
This year 73% of our Clubs have training hours that are postgraduate friendly (after 5pm and on weekends) and the vast majority have at least two sessions a week that are accessible.

Three founding principles of PGSU sport services
- Sports sessions to be affordable, every week, on the same day, and at an accessible time.
- To continue as many of these services over the summer as we can. Postgrads are all still here and need services.
- For sessions to be postgrad exclusive and run by fellow PGs, when possible, to help people feel comfortable getting involved.
Every Wednesday at 6pm. Simply turn up to Bookable Room 6, in Union House, and pay £1 when you get there to the instructor, Finn. Please bring your own mat, as they won't be provided. All levels welcome.
Tuesday PG Sport Session
Weekly rotating sport sessions every Tuesday at 6pm. Sport will be announced on this page and on our facebook page (found here). On the day, swipe thorugh the turnstiles and meet PGR student Ethan, who runs the sessions. He will show you the way to the hall or pitch. The Union regularly organises social events for postgraduates inside union house and around Norwich – including ale walks, coffee socials and Mandarin Chinese lessons. To help make sure that our events are designed for postgrads, by postgrads, we also help support and fund students to put on their own events.
