Postgraduate Sports

The Union has 62 sports clubs, and have been working to keep them accessible to postgraduate students. Last year hundreds of PG students joined a sports club, ranging from swimming to rock climbing. Sports clubs are not just a place for those wishing to compete competitively, they are also a way to relieve stress and get out of the lab or the library.
This year 73% of our Clubs have training hours that are postgraduate friendly (after 5pm and on weekends) and the vast majority have at least two sessions a week that are accessible.
To see all of the clubs and societies we have on offer, click HERE. If you have any questions about which clubs are most accessible for Postgrads, you can also contact your Activities and Opportunities Officer, Joe Zilch -

Three founding principles of PGSU sport services

  1. Sports sessions to be affordable, every week, on the same day, and at an accessible time.
  2. To continue as many of these services over the summer as we can. Postgrads are all still here and need services.
  3. For sessions to be postgrad exclusive and run by fellow PGs, when possible, to help people feel comfortable getting involved.
