This training is for committee members of clubs and societies only.

 

All newly-elected student group committee members must attend a student group induction. We are running student group induction sessions on May 17th, May 18th, and September 14th You only have to attend one student group induction session.

General Training FAQ:

Which training sessions do I need to attend?

All club and society committee members need to attend one of our Student Group Induction Sessions, delivered by the SU, which will cover information such as duty of care to your members, and support available to you as committee.

Committee members also required to attend individual training sessions depending on their role. You can find out the compulsory training requirements for each committee position here.

 

When is training?

We are running training sessions in May, July and September. You can find the full timetable and book onto our training sessions at the bottom of this page. 

Please note, we are running multiple of the same training sessions to ensure that individuals can attend training at a convenient time. You do not need to attend multiple training sessions for one role. For example, we are running a handful of Presidents’ Training sessions in May, July, and September; presidents only need to attend one training session of their choice, they do not need to attend all of these sessions.

 

Where is training taking place?

All training will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Teams Live.

 

What happens if I don’t attend training?

If you do not attend the compulsory training for your committee role, your committee access to the website and the app will be revoked and you will not be able to fulfil your role. If the three signatory positions (President, Treasurer and Secretary) do not attend finance training, we will revoke your financial control until you attend finance training.

 

I’ve previously attended this training, do I still need to attend?

Yes. Even if you previously held a committee position and attended this training session in the past, you still need to attend. This is because processes and information change and our training is updated to reflect this.
