Are you a Postgraduate Researcher looking for a low-commitment, judgement-free running group? PGRunners is here for you!
PGRunners is a running group for Postgraduate Researchers aimed at those completely new to running - although all levels of experience are welcome!
We meet on Wednesday mornings at 9:00am outside the UEA Sportspark and follow a Couch to 5K programme. Eventually we hope to complete the Colney Lane Parkrun, which takes place weekly on campus.
The sessions include warm ups and cool downs, with running activities pitched at the level and interest of the members of the group. They are also completely FREE! Just be sure to come along in comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for running.
We coordinate our runs through RunTogether - to find us and sign up, click here.
PGRunners has been set up in conjunction with the Courage Project - an initiative working to improve PGR mental health and wellbeing at the University of East Anglia. We hope this group will act as a good opportunity to chat to other researchers about life, your research, and exercise, as well as experience the physical and psychological benefits of running with others in a welcoming setting.
The group will be led by Zoë Jones from the Learning Enhancement Team (LET). As well as being a tutor for LET, Zoë is also a Postgraduate Researcher on the Doctorate in Education programme. She is a qualified Running Fitness Leader and enthusiastic about sharing her passion for running with others.
