Last week I wrote about improving access to sport and the theme continues this week – with the inaugural ueaccess open evening happening this Thursday between 5 and 9pm in the Sportspark.
The ueaaccess initiative is intended to ensure that getting involved in campus activities is as accessible as possible. The open evening will introduce the scheme and will showcase a range of inclusive activities that students and members of the wider community can get involved in. It's open to everyone, UEA student or not, and is also kid friendly. From badminton and climbing to Zumba and sitting Volleyball, a range of activities will be happening on the evening and they're all completely free!
There will also be a mini UEA societies fair, Pets As Therapy will be bringing some dogs and there's the opportunity to hear about how the University campus is becoming more accessible. It's a great chance to try out something new for free and meet new people.
We're hoping this evening will be the first of many and hope to see you there! Registration isn't required, but you can see the timetable and click that you're going on the Facebook event here
If you'd like to attend as a volunteer ambassador for inclusive sport, it would also be great to see as many people as possible sign up to help by filling in the form at this link
