Postgraduate Education Conference 2018

Postgraduate(su) are hosting the Postgraduate Education Conference 2018 on the 17th of November. This will be a full day conference consisting of panels, workshops, talks, and a Research showcase. Open to any postgraduate student at UEA, whether you want to present your research or just come along to observe for the day.

The Research showcase will be a great opportunity for students to explain their research to a non-expert audience and gain a larger sense of inter-disciplinary research community at UEA. As part of this there will be a chance for postgraduates to present their research orally, or via a poster. There will be two prizes of £100, one for the oral presentations, and one for the poster presentations. These will be voted by the audience in attendance at the conference. A maximum of 15 minutes will be allowed for each presentation - this includes time for questions. Abstract submissions for this section have now closed.

Our workshops will consist of 3 strands focusing on: wellbeing & work-life balance, culture in higher education, and the marketisation of higher education. We're looking for academics and students to join our panels detailed on the programme for the conference - if you wish to get involved please email:

This event could really benefit the lifeblood of research at UEA: the postgraduate community. Any suggestions or comments on how we run this event are welcomed.

Even if you have submitted an abstract, you will need to click here to register for a FREE place at the conference.

FREE lunch will be provided on the day from Squilla and Squidge with the fantastic options of: Moroccan butterbean stew with rice or pitta (vegan), Hot Cajun chicken wrap with sweetcorn salsa and coleslaw, or a Salad Box – couscous and butternut salad, hummus, coleslaw and rocket with choice of falafel (vegan) or Cajun chicken. Refreshments be available throughout the day, along with a drinks reception after the closing remarks.
